Meeting educational standards has become more demanding
and complex as more levels of government become further involved in the
education of students. Teachers need to meet standards at federal,
state, and district levels. This means that lessons can not be dedicated
to one standard or even one subject area. The teacher must be able
to design lessons that meet the local curriculum but also come in line with
standards at all levels of government. At the same time it is important
to remember the testing that has become so much a part of the educational
experience. Lessons need to provide students with experiences that
will enable them to be successful on standardized tests, without being so
similar to a test format that the teacher is "teaching to the test." Please follow the link below to view a lesson I have created and how it meets standards at a variety of levels. |
